Last week I accidentally interrupted an orienteering activity in camp. One of the leaders asked me if I knew how to teach using a compass. I said yeah, let me talk to the kids. And then I told the eleven campers that every 300,000 years, the Earth’s magnetic poles switch and so compasses are useless. Find your own way.
